Amplifying Women’s Voices: Addressing the Silent Health Crisis Post International Women's Day

Yesterday we celebrated women.

We celebrated strength.Leadership.Resilience.All the ways women hold families, communities, and entire systems together.

But today… the day after… I want to talk about something we don’t celebrate nearly enough.

Women’s health.

Because while we honor women in words, the truth is that many women are still struggling to be heard when it comes to their bodies.

And nowhere is that more obvious than during perimenopause and menopause.

The Quiet Dismissal Many Women Experience

If you’re in your late 30s, 40s, or 50s, you may recognize this story.

Your body starts changing in ways you can’t quite explain.

You feel more tired than usual, your sleep becomes restless, and your weight shifts even though you’re eating the same way you always have.

You struggle to find words in the middle of a conversation.

Your moods feel different. Your patience shorter. Your nervous system more on edge.

So you do what responsible people do. You go to the doctor.

You explain what’s happening.

And often the response sounds something like this:

“It’s just part of aging.”“Your labs look normal.”“Try to manage your stress.”

You leave feeling like you should just accept it.

But something in your gut says…This isn’t normal for me.

And you’re right.

When Women Know Something Is Off

The women I work with are intelligent, capable, and deeply self-aware.

They’ve tried to do everything “right.”

They’ve cleaned up their diets. They’ve exercised more. They’ve tried supplements, new routines, and wellness advice from every direction.

And yet their bodies still feel like they’re working against them.

Many of them start to believe something is wrong with them.

But the truth is far simpler and far more compassionate.

Your body is not failing.

It’s communicating.

Your symptoms are not random, and they are not a sign that you’re doing something wrong. They are signals from your metabolism, hormones, nervous system, and lifestyle asking for support.

Symptoms are messages, and when we learn how to listen to them, everything begins to change.

The Problem With One-Size-Fits-All Advice

One of the biggest challenges women face today is the overwhelming amount of health advice.

Cut carbs. Don’t cut carbs. Lift heavy. Do more cardio. Take these supplements.Avoid those foods.

Every time you open social media, someone is offering a new rule.

No wonder so many women feel exhausted and confused.

The truth is, there is no universal formula for health.

Your hormones, metabolism, stress response, sleep patterns, and nutritional needs are unique to you.

What works beautifully for one person can leave another person feeling worse.

This is why real healing starts with clarity.

Not guessing.Not chasing trends.

But understanding what your body is actually asking for.

What Your Body Is Really Asking For

When a woman enters perimenopause or menopause, her body is going through an enormous transition.

Hormones shift.Metabolism adapts. The nervous system becomes more sensitive to stress.

Your body may suddenly need:

More protein.Better blood sugar stability.More restorative movement instead of intense workouts.Deeper nervous system support so your body can rest and recover.

These changes are not a sign that your body is declining.

They’re a sign that your body is evolving.

And when you learn how to support that evolution, something beautiful happens.

Energy returns.

Sleep improves.

Weight begins to normalize.

Mood and clarity come back online.

Most importantly, you begin to feel like yourself again.

Menopause Isn’t the End, It’s an Initiation

For too long, our culture has framed menopause as the beginning of decline.

But that story is incomplete.

This phase of life can actually become a powerful turning point.

It’s a moment when many women begin to ask deeper questions.

What does my body truly need?

Where have I been overgiving or ignoring myself?

What would it look like to actually support my health instead of pushing through exhaustion?

When women start listening to their bodies and advocating for their health, something shifts.

They don’t just feel better physically.

They reconnect with themselves.

They feel stronger, clearer, and more grounded than they have in years.

This Is Why I Do This Work

I’ve walked this road myself.

I know what it feels like to sit in a doctor’s office and feel dismissed.

I know what it feels like when your body suddenly changes and nothing that used to work anymore.

And I also know what it feels like when the pieces finally start to come together.

When you understand what your body needs.

When you stop fighting your body and start working with it.

That’s the work I do with women every day.

Helping them decode their symptoms.Helping them understand what their body is asking for.Helping them create simple, sustainable changes that bring their system back into balance.

Because women deserve more than being told to just tolerate feeling terrible.

You deserve clarity.

You deserve answers.

And most of all, you deserve to feel at home in your body again.

A Question for You

If you’re reading this and quietly wondering whether your body is trying to tell you something…

Pause for a moment.

Take a breath.

And ask yourself:

What might my body be asking for right now?

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

When you begin listening with curiosity instead of judgment, your body will start showing you the way forward.

And sometimes all it takes is the right guide to help you translate what it’s been saying all along.

With warmth,
